The Joker is no joke on the basketball court. 

He wasn’t the biggest name in the 2014 NBA Draft but Nikola Jokic has proven to be one of the best.  And with his emergence as one of the game’s elite players, Nikola Jokic Rookie Card interest has risen.

You will not find his early cards so easy to find as you would any home grown USA basketball star.  We have put a few of his to early cards up on the website. 

Although he was taken in the second round in 2014, it would be another year before Jokic made his debut with the Denver Nuggets.  He remained playing in Europe after he was drafted.

When it came to his first released cards, the Serbian was overlooked. He doesn’t even appear in some 2015-16 products. Hoops is the set where Jokic’s absence is, perhaps, most apparent. There’s also a noticeable lack of high-end autographs.

In fact just four base Nikola Jokic Rookie Cards come with signatures. And of those, Immaculate is the only set to have an autograph-patch combination. This means that when it comes to a low quantity of production and a scarcity in the USA, his rookie cards now create high demand. 

He was a typical Serbian Euro League memorabilia rising star in Europe when his rookie  cards hit the market.  Nothing extra ordinary appeared in his memorabilia demand.

Nikola was a delayed basketball shooting star after he reached the NBA and his collectible value also blossomed late.   But it bloomed.  It is now solid and planted in dirt.

Thus, the lack of any early USA awareness and a higher international demand for his cards in his early playing career, now benefits his collectible value.

Jokic is a horse trainer and stable owner of harness racing horses.  He has a passion for his horse racing career.  His well rounded interest plays a role in his demeanor as a ball basketball player. 

He is a home grounded European style living individual.   He married his high school sweetheart, and as he expressed on national TV, after winning the NBA finals, being home in Serbia can be more important than an NBA Championship victory parade.
